Air Spading
The air spade is a diagnostic and remedial tool that can safely excavate the soil surrounding a tree without damaging the bark or the roots. This gives us the opportunity to help a tree that was planted too deep, and to closely examine the root system for remedial pruning of girdling roots. The combination of air spading, soil amendments and mulching is an effective way to eliminate soil compaction and greatly improve soil structure and nutrient content.
